who made my clothes

Fast fashion isn’t free. Someone somewhere is paying. Be curious. Find out. Do something.

Today I open the doors for you to know the secrets of LeLemonade.
Transparency and proximity are at the core and foundation of the brand. I believe that you have the right to know about the inner workings of the company and how and where the products are made.

At LeLemonade I’m committed to fair and ethical trade.

How do I make the all over prints?

Designing the all-over prints is my favourite part of my work at LeLemonade.
But you should know that print design goes hand in hand with the design of the whole collection and I love the entire process. From the inspiration search, the quick sketches, the idea of the fabric, the colours and the prints to the creation of the technical files, the digital design of patterns and of course the final fabrics choice.

The real excitement comes when I send the designs to Alvaro and Hugo and they make it happen! I print fabrics by sublimation in Hugo’s workshop, I love working with him and Álvaro and visiting their small company in Barcelona. There, literally, dreams come true!

How do I sew the garments?

When I met Irene I didn’t doubt to work with her! We instantly connected from the very first moment.
She understands my designs perfectly and we find the solutions together to create the perfect garment!

In his workshop, in Madrid, we make magic…

How are the t-shirts made?

I didn’t want to buy ready-made t-shirts, besides design, the quality was super important too. That’s why I decided to make the LeLemonade t-shirts from the ground up.

From weaving the fabric (soft and light 100% organic cotton) to the t-shirt. I love working with Miguel and his company. I really enjoy learning about the whole process and being part of it.

How do I print my t-shirts?

As you can see my favourite parts are the creative ones.
I love drawing the illustration that will be printed on the t-shirt, but not only making the design fascinates me; I also love discovering new materials and testing new techniques.

I love textures! That’s why I love mixing digital printing with fantasy pieces of vinyl, embroidery, charms and sequins. All of this is done with my own hands! I already told you that I love to be part of the process. When I have to make new prints I rent the machines to Mariano and Carmen, in their small studio in Barcelona, and one by one I print each t-shirt.

I love mixing digital printing technology with the handmade process of vinyl stamping, embroidery and sewing charms by hand.

How do LeLemonade products come to you?

All LeLemonade garments travel in a little box full of love. I carefully prepare the packages one by one and if you want to know the LeLemonade experience you will have to feel it by yourself! And remember, when you buy from a small business an actual person does a little happy dance!

LeLemonade sees sustainability as the way and the process to achieve a better future and that’s why I’m going to be honest with you. Would I like to be able to do things better? Of course! But we cannot be 100% sustainable until our planet and our systems are sustainable at that level. The world of sustainability is a process that is progressing little by little and from here, I’m committed to improving along with its evolution!

Every small change makes a big difference!
